A magnetic gas level indicator is a simple and effective device used to determine the amount of gas remaining in a cylinder or tank, most commonly for LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders. Unlike complex gauges, these indicators are often a magnetic strip or small device that attaches to the exterior of the cylinder.
- This is the most common and affordable type. These indicators work by sensing temperature differences on the cylinder’s surface
- When gas is drawn from the cylinder, the liquid LPG inside converts to gas, causing a cooling effect in the area where the liquid is present
