Game Objective

The primary objective is for a player or a team to be the first to create a specified number of “sequences.” A sequence is a continuous row of five of your chips (or pawns) of the same color, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally on the board.

What’s in the Box?

A standard Sequence game box contains everything needed to play:

1. The Game Board: A large, colorful board that displays a grid of 100 squares. Each square features a miniature image of a playing card (from a standard 52-card deck, excluding Jacks). There are also four “Corner Squares” which are neutral and can be used by any player as a free spot.
2. Two Decks of Playing Cards: The game includes two standard 52-card decks. The cards are used to determine where players can place their chips on the board.
3. Poker Chips/Pawns: There are three sets of colored chips, typically blue, green, and red. Each player or team uses a single color. The quantity of chips is sufficient for all players.

Gameplay

1. Setup: The board is placed in the center. Each player or team chooses a color and takes a set of chips. The cards are shuffled, and each player is dealt a hand of cards (the number of cards dealt depends on the number of players).
2. Taking Turns: On a player’s turn, they choose a card from their hand and place it on a discard pile. They then place one of their colored chips on a corresponding card square on the game board.
3. Special Cards (Jacks): The Jack cards have special functions that add a layer of strategy to the game:
   • Two-Eyed Jacks (e.g., Jack of Hearts): These are “wild” cards. When played, they can be used to place a chip on any empty square on the entire board.
   • One-Eyed Jacks (e.g., Jack of Clubs): These are “removable” cards. When played, they can be used to remove an opponent’s chip from the board (unless it is part of an already completed sequence).
